he Department of Family and Consumer Sciences cultivates integrative study and applied research of the human environment and systems to enrich human lives and provide global leadership. Consistent with our vision to be Illinois' first chioce for Family and Consumer Sciences, we are one of only two programs in Illinois, and 59 programs nationwide, to be accredited by the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. The Department also is accredited by the American Dietetic Association, and the Council for Interior Design Accreditation, formerly FIDER.
Family and Consumer Sciences offers bachelor's and master's degrees in several exciting professions, including Apparel Merchandising and Design, Interior and Environmental Design, Food, Nutrition and Dietetics, Human Development and Family Resources, and Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher Education, as well as graduate programs that include our Dietetic Internship and Child Life Programs.
