The Child Care Center provides high quality, developmental childcare services in a safe, nurturing, and diverse learning environment. The center is available for preschool children (ages 3-5) of Illinois State students, faculty, and staff. It serves as a lab site for practicum students from the Illinois State Family and Consumer Sciences Department along with observers from other departments across campus.

A variety of apparel construction, production, design, and merchandising courses are taught in this studio. Equipment used includes industrial and home sewing machines, sergers, and industry dress forms.

This collection teaches students about historic costume, how and why clothing changed over time, and how to properly care for historic garments.
