Biography

Reem Bagais is an Assistant Professor in the Interior Design program in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at Illinois State University. She earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Interior Environmental Design from Texas Tech University. She also holds a Master of Science in Environmental Design from Texas Tech and a Master of Art in Interior Design from George Washington University. Previously, she worked as a graduate part-time instructor in the Department of Design at Texas Tech University. She also worked as a lecturer at Prince Sultan University, Department of Design, Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Bagais believes in fostering holistic learning through practical application and reflection, emphasizing the development of interior design concepts in a diversified approach. Dr. Bagais's goal is to transform students into professionals by integrating innovative designs, utilizing technology for student ownership and independence, and promoting a collaborative and individual learning environment.

Research Interests & Areas

Dr. Bagais's research interest focuses on the relationship between the built environment and children's development. Her current research explores the effect of home environments on shaping a child's self-regulation development.
