Distance Dietetic Internship Certificate
The Distance Dietetic Internship at Illinois State University offers pathways to success with unique elements of flexibility and efficiency. When you complete our distance dietetic internship, you will earn graduate credits that seamlessly integrate with our online Master of Science in Nutrition, accelerating your journey towards a career as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
To best meet your diverse needs, Illinois State offers two tailored course plans. You can choose to start your graduate coursework first, followed by the distance dietetic internship, or opt for a concurrent approach, completing both in 12 months.
Do you already have a graduate degree? Already working towards your degree? Illinois State continues to offer a standalone distance dietetic internship and will work with you to ensure your success!
Visit the Sequence of Courses page for more details.
About the Program
Our program aims to prepare students to be competent, entry level registered dietitian nutritionists with a strong educational framework. Beyond the basics, our program encourages you to explore areas of dietetics that align with your career aspirations. Whether your interests are in clinical nutrition, community outreach, sports dietetics, or otherwise, you will have the freedom to create your own schedule and recruit preceptors in the geographic locations of your choice, all while enjoying the convenience of remote learning. Our distance dietetics program has a growing toolbox of resources, including a robust preceptor pool, available to you for support as your design your unique supervised practice schedule.
This program is designed for someone who has their undergraduate degree, completed a didactic program in dietetics and possess a DPD verification statement. Alternate dietetic pathways at Illinois State University include a Master of Science degree in Nutrition or an on-campus Dietetic Internship and Master of Science degree in Nutrition.
